Amberley Secret Lane Sauvignon Blanc
The Amberley vineyards are planted in the gravelly loam soils of Margaret River. Here, the vines are cooled by nearby ocean breezes and combined with our viticultural practices, allows us to produce wines with elegant flavours.
Growing season began with a wet winter and continued into an ideal burst of the vines in spring. There was little rain during the growing season and therefore yields were down a little. Summer temperatures were warm but not excessive, which provided excellent ripening conditions in the lead up to harvest. Intense varietal characters, balanced with acidity and sound fruit is the result
Individual parcels were fermented separately in stainless steel with selected yeasts at cool temperatures to retain varietal aromatics. Following ferment, extended yeast lees contact allowed for the development of palate length, texture, and additional complexity.
Clear and bright, the wine is pale straw in colour with a clear hue. Clean and pronounced aromas of fresh lime and gooseberry are complemented by a hint of passionfruit. On the palate, the wine shows classic varietal characters of fresh citrus, guava and gooseberry. The racy acidity frames the wine, complementing the high fruit intensity, showing great balance and length of flavour.
Enjoy with crispy fried fish, fresh chili and coriander
